This watercolour ‘long study’ captures a vibrant urban street view at the intersection of Lockhart Road and East Point Road, adjacent to the Sogo Department Store in the bustling shopping district of Causeway Bay, Hong Kong Island.
What drew me to this scene was the striking density of shop signage that illuminates the street as the sun sets, transitioning from day to the dynamic energy of a Hong Kong night.
I’m fascinated by the interplay of multiple light and shadow sources that adds to the lively atmosphere, and enhances the rhythm of city life.
